Nestled on the shores of Miami's Biscayne Bay, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a rare gem for brides and grooms seeking to capture their vows and celebration against a backdrop of history and natural beauty. The iconic venue, spanning 50 acres, boasts an Italian Renaissance-style villa, lush and fairytale-like gardens, and a timeless elegance that makes it a highly demanded destination venue for weddings, both grand and intimate. Muñoz Photography has been fortunate enough to photograph countless weddings at this special venue, and we know our lay of the land so well that photographing our couples here is both easy and fun.
High-End Weddings at Vizcaya
For bigger weddings, the Vizcaya Main House stands as the crown jewel. Inspired by European design, this swanky history-rich villa offers a regal setting for extravagant ceremonies and receptions. The grand staircase, adorned with intricate sculptures and overlooking the Biscayne Bay, offers a dramatic entrance for couples and an excellent photo opportunity. Vizcaya will also set up large tents for weddings, and we usually see them on the East Terrace next to the barge.
Intimate Affairs in Secret Gardens
The magic of Vizcaya extends beyond its grandeur, as it also offers intimate spaces for smaller gatherings. The Secret Garden – a secluded enclave, provides a romantic setting for vows surrounded by lush landscape. South Florida wedding photographers love photographing their couples at the Tea Garden, with its pergola and reflective pool, as a backdrop for capturing quiet moments, laughter, and the sacred bond.
Photography Magic by the Bay
In addition to the exquisite gardens and architectural eye candy, Vizcaya's waterfront is also a captivating backdrop for capturing candid moments and posed creative portraits.
Beyond the aesthetics, Vizcaya carries a rich history, originally built as the winter residence of industrialist James Deering in the early 20th century. Today, the property serves as a cultural landmark, where tourists and locals enjoy leisurely mornings of wandering, families take holiday photos, and couples throw high-end and uniquely magical weddings.
